This
is Our RV that we purchased on Ebay from JD.
Starting
cost, $560.00
She
was in pretty bad shape when we brought her home.
But
I knew this to start with.
|
This is what it looked like
the day we brought it home.
|
From
Start
to
Finish
I
will Never be
finished.
|
As you can see, the whole
back end has been rotted out. Big project coming.
|
|
Its a 1972 Dodge mini motor home with a 360-2 engines
and a Torqueflite 747, 4 speed bullet proof transmission |

I
was really amazed by how this rig ran. It seemed that Everything worked
but the Oven.
It
drives, stops, steers, shifts like a new one.
I
did put in a Cruise control as it didn't have one. This makes it a Whole
lot better to keep at the proper RPM for Fuel mileage.
When
we started looking, we found All the paper work for all the appliances
in a drawer. This sure helped in figuring out what does what and how.
|
Some
of the things I found were that it was like looking at a Ice berg. What I seen
was just the tip of things.
Once
I was able to get into it I found I had replace more than 70% of the wood.
This
is not a problem as I had a Blast doing it. I still have to peel back
the front and do the gaucho or over the cab part, whatever its called.
I
had also replaced all the wiring from about the middle of the rig all the way
to the rear. I ran a extra Ground wire to everything knowing in the past that
most of the problems are caused by a bad ground.
I
replaced all the lights on the back half and well do the same up front.
But
for right now, We are Cruising the Hi ways with it right now.

|
|
|
The
rear is all finished and ready to roll.
Now
we can use it and make a working project out of it. I still have the
front to do.
|
|
This
was the first trip out with her.
We
went up to Harrison Hot Springs in Canada to rescue this 1959 Classic Skagit 20
Express.
Well
of Course I will change the paint job Geesh.

This
was done in all exterior wood for structure and were supporting was
not a factor, I used Cedar to keep it light weight. I would suspect
that the unit is lighter now as I took out all the press board junk
and replaced it with Cedar. |
|
As
you can see here, I like Cedar. Its Light weight and looks good. The
outside is all sealed but the insides are are natural
The
vents have been changed to add Fans in them for quick exhaust.
