  • G-3 project

Well, maybe the devil made me do it. I bought the '59 G-3 with Merc dockbuster in Arlington. The boat is in great condition. Merc needs a prop and distributor cap but turns over smoothly. We'll see

Now I'll just have to let my little finned boat go...drat.

        G-3

Thanks, you guys. Going to take a bunch of work to get her looking like yours, Chuck. Hopefully I can get her in the water by this summer....
        I pick it up Sunday...

Going to have to get ahold of the "Doc" to get that merc going, though.

        Cheers

Richard, I also have a 1961 Mercury Dockbuster 80HP that I hope to get running this summer. I have to get a key and then will see what happens. It is on a 14T Powercat. Clint

I don't know what it is about those White Mercs but I really like them.
I have a little 50hp that I some day hope to get running again.

                  Good Score Clint

I hear you Clint. Pretty much doing a reality check here to see what my most important projects might be and going to list the rest to sell.
Most of my OMC stuff is going to go for sure.

Just need to simplify things around and Yes, I have too many and much stuff too.

You'll know if you have a dockbuster. When you come in to the dock, do you have to shut your motor off and restart it to get reverse? If you do, you have a dockbuster.

They quit making the dockbuster in 1961. They have no neutral. If they are running they are in gear. Two starters motor runs one way for forward and runs the otherway for reverse. Some people say they can do this quickly. You want a really good battery. Clint

Is your motor cooler than everyone elses? If so, you have a dockbuster!
