My 'new' 20ft. 1965 Tollycraft has a 289 Interceptor V8 that was "rebuilt" and installed but never started. If anyone knows anything about these engines or can direct me, please do. For starters I need to know the fireing order of a revers turning engine. Also anything about the Eton 160 outdrive.

Interceptor Engines

If this is one of the Y-Block Interceptors, my recollection is that they were available as 272s, 292s and 312s, but I don't recall 289s in the Y-Block series...(?)
In any case, I have manuals for the Interceptor series, which I'd be happy to loan. (You could copy the sections you're interested in, or whatever. There's a fair amount of information on Interceptors online, including a Y-Block forum I've looked at in the past.)
I don't have any literature on Eaton outdrives, but again, I'll bet you could find manuals and other info online.
Let me know if you'd like to borrow the Interceptor manual...

Thanks Mary for the offer. I would definetly like to borrow your info. How would we get together? I am at the stage were I need to find out if the egine is salvagable as it was stored in a unheated shed for three years. Possibly with water still in the engine. I plan to pull the plugs squirt oil in the cylinders and crank it over with the fresh water line hooked up.

I'll unearth the Interceptor stuff this weekend and mail it to you...unless you want to wait until Opening Day. Either way is fine...
