Hey guys,
Gettig down to final detail time on my neighbor`s old classic.
I made the splashwell from scratch and it just barely clears the short Mercury that goes back on it.He wants a Set-back motor bracket so we`ll see if it truly happens......
Transom was done with a solid pc of 1`` Marine plywood and then Woven roving to face it and the well.Corner steps made for exiting the hull.
The seat assys have cushioned covers and the bases were glassed in solid but made to save weight.
The trenches down both side should hold a bunch of water and the rear is now open instead of a huge bench seat it once had.
We gained almost three feet of floorspace removing the rear plywood nightmare.
Found multiple layers of filler ,putty and weirdness all around the keel near the old leaky drain tube.I removed it and made one new one in each side corner, drains no matter which way you slope....except down hill.
I glassed the Hull inside with woven kinda expecting to grind the outside off but found a good layer hidden under all the goo.
Now to decide whether to rip Rubrail from solid Oak or go spend more of my buddies $ at Fisco, but have a shiny new seam to gaze at.
