Does anyone know the formula, rule of thumb or how to precisely determine the hole placement for the I/O cut out. I have the templet for the outdrive but I want to be sure I have it exactly placed on the new transom. One try only, it's mainly the vertical that concerns me. Any input would be good. Andy

I/O Cutout

Which inboard-outboard unit are you installing...? If it's OMC I have the pattern including distance up from the bottom of the hull.

Outdrive Placement
If you are re-installing the original, did you save the old transom? If not, you should be able to find the layouts for whatever reasonably current drive you are putting in online or directly from the mfr.
I'm looking forward to seeing that boat on the water next season!

OMC Outdrive
Andy -
I'll make a tracing of my OMC outdrive cutout pattern, including distance from the base of the cutout to the bottom of the hull, and mail the full-size pattern to you. (You'll want to double-check to be sure your 1995 outdrive hole is the same as mine, since I don't know what changes OMC might have made over the years, or with different models. My outdrive cutout is for one of the 120-hp four-bangers.)
