We decided to rebuild the engine box on the Chris Craft since it was a little "wobbly" and after removing the vinyl and sanding the original paint we discovered several areas of rot... On top of that we discovered that almost every fastener had either corroded to nothing or come loose...
Spent the weekend picking out all the old putty covering all the screws so we could replace them. Luckily my father had some spare mahogany plywood left over from an old restoration, so we got to cut out two major panels of rot and replace with "fresh" wood (plywood was from 1980)...
