We were on a fire over towards Port Hadlock which happen to be on the dividing district and I went to the Hadlock department which was closer for water.
I seen the boat, stopped, jumped out and took those pictures, about 2 to 3 years ago.

On your project, its up to you how hard you want to hit it. It also depends on tools you have and what needs to be done to her..

First things first, taking her down to see what you have.
You have a Lot of depends on's....

You're absolutely right. Looking at the wood on the transom and the ends of the stringers that are exposed <2"> I can tell there's some bad news under my feet...

Well, I am not the only one that will be jumping in to help you get this project completed.
I have my old ways but some folks have new ways they have tried too.
Some more costly then others.
I have a couple more newer tools that would have saved time.
Cutting old screw heads off, or getting right next to the hull and cutting away the fiberglass like stringer removal, bulkhead, transom removal and saving more for patterns.
One thing that you will find is that looking down the hull from the back of the boat, no two sides are going to be the same. Meaning, you can't make something for the port side and expect it to fit right on the starboard side

Lets see if I can find the information on this tool. I am not selling this too by the way but its made by Rigid and comes with that life time warranty as long as you register it.
If this works, go check this out.
Way cool time and materiel saver

My neighbor stopped by the other day to check out the boat...he mentioned the same tool when I said possible floor replacement. After watching the video I can see how it can make a tough job much easier. Thanks for the video!

Here is the boat I was speaking of with the big windows. Looks a bit out of proportion but I do kinda like the hard top. This one is a 1965 with a 6cyl IO

Oh yeah, that one. That guy has posted that all over the place, on more than one occasion. It's a cool boat though I haven't seen any other pics of it.

Well yesterday was devoted to hunting with my son. Today was devoted to the boat...trailer really. When I bought it I had to use magnetic lights to get me home. Today I installed some LED brake lights and front marker lights. Turned out pretty clean looking. I also added 4 reflectors, 2 amber and 2 red. I thought about adding more lights but for now I'm happy with it. I tried to get it all done earlier today so I could float the boat, but time was against me.

That is not the No Feedback system.
I will look the one I recommend and you can look at it.
This is the one I try to use in most boats.
I have the older rack and pinion and not pleased with it. I want this one.

Hmm the one I posted said no feedback? I do like the one you posted, seems like a cleaner install. Are there online retailers that you guys hit up for stuff like this?

I see that it is now !!!. That pretty cool. I mean they all do the same thing, steer the boat and if its no feedback then it should be find if you can hide it.
I use Port Supply which but there is another big one over in Seattle that I forget the name of at the moment.

Guys, who are the suppliers for hardware ?
I also use Fiberlay for the most part in Resins. Fact is, I use the Laminating resin for pretty much all the glass work.
I also use the Westsystem 105 epoxy and 205 hardener.
I know there are a few on line outfits that sell the products too.
I guess I need to get busy with the resources too.

The other supplier in Seattle is probably Fisheries Supply.

Tim Mattson replaced the cable steering in my Seafair a few years ago. He installed the Teleflex steering. It's a whole lot better than the old cable system. With the cable system, you can't take your hands off the steering wheel for even a second.

Steve that's exactly why I'm changing it out. I want my son to be able to captain the boat and I don't feel comfortable with him using the cable system.

She floats! As far as we could tell, no water seeped in while it was on the water. Of course, there's no outboard, no gear and only my son in it, so it wasn't sitting that low...but it was a good feeling to get it wet for the first time since I've owned it. The subaru pulled it out no problem, though there were many funny looks thrown our way.
