  • Little More Work

I did a little more work painting the motor cover today in the garage. On top of it i will put some of the vinyl that is just about a perfect match as far as blending into the main deck in the burgundy color. On each side of the motor cover( stern wall ) it will be rugged in grey to match the grey stripe on the hull and the seats. The other motor cover ( see picture ) that opens up all of the way across the stern will have burgundy vinyl material as i mention earlier. This last week i did not get the new gas lines completed as it was just a little too cold, but just about have all of the brass gas fittings out of the engine compartment and them pressure wash the engine. This boat has more gas line fittings than a person would ever need ! I did get the VHF antenna mount off of the cabin roof anyway. Next i will get the cabin hatch cover ready to paint this coming week in burgundy with a grey stripe on each side like i have done on a few others. Here's something to think about when boating....I had to go to the doctor after my wife made a appointment last Tuesday ( she got tired of waiting for me to do it for the last year or two ) to get my forehead checked out to see if i have skin cancer. Yep i have it. For about the last 5 years i have been wearing a cap to keep the rays off my head when boating being i have been taking blood thinning pills and did not want to get a sunstroke , but not for cancer. This doctor told me it could have happen 30 years + ago. I do remember about three times i got burn like a lobster way back when and then some other times not as bad. After they are removed i guess i will have to pile on the " something sun screen number " whatever it is to keep the rays away. I was planning a Bimini on this boat and now it will have one for sure.

Sorry to hear about the cancer. My dad is recovering from having a lung removed in January that was full of cancer. Keep your head high and get the boat done!

Kelly, Very sorry to hear that about your dad but glad they caught it in time.and now he is on the mend. I'am to go in to talk to this other doctor to find out the do's and don't before and after they remove them and how long do i have to wait before going out again ?? This is all new to me. i will just keep working away on the boat.I thought it was one of those things that would never happen to me looking back over the years. Boy ! was i wrong !. Being our granddaughter is here today, Sheila is taking her to the Mall. So that gives me more time to finished up the motor cover. Then i will put it in the storage room . I don't want our cat to use it for a new scratching post !

I'am lucky that i can work from my house with my web company. Start in the morning around 7:30 am to about 2 pm or so Seattle time ( 5 pm New York time ). I do a lot of business on the East Coast ,Midwest ,South. I use to start at 6 am- 5 pm but after 22 years now i have back off some. So that helps as far as working on the boat. I always have to pick a date to work towards like on this project for my deadline of 95 % finished by May 31. If i don't make it no big deal as i pick a new date. but that's just me.

chuck, sorry about the cancer! I have had some basil cell cancer removed in the past. It is the "good" cancer to have. Is this what you are dealing with? or is it worse?

Great work on the boat Chuck. Sound like the color combo is working out just right.
Boy, that cancer stuff is scary. I am just dealing with arthritis in a bad back for the most part.
I am hoping that laser surgery will kick in but so far, still no sleeping.

Joe, Going to tint the Interlux "dark grey " color towards more of a charcoal grey theme. As long as i stay with the same brand and type of paint .The other three boats have been light grey when it came to the striping , so on this one i thought i would go with the charcoal grey along with the burgundy main color. Old ? .....what's that ?
