Hi Michael, I would like to hear your thoughts on my questionable conversion. It looks to me that the hull of my Runabout is a close match to your Express, should I convert her or keep it as a Runabout?

I know a little about it. I like what you do with it for one. If its the same that I am thinking of and that what John Nelson used on the back of his Uniflite.
The thing that I do know is you can bend a radius around a gallon paint can, fiberglass resin it and it stays..
Most of the rear of his Uniflite is all done in this fiberglass foam board. Maybe I had better call him and make sure of what he used. I know its priced about the same. It would cost about three times more to do a standard transom with it versus plywood.
But, you sure as hell can't do this very easy with plywood.

(When we go on a longer event, like around Bainbridge, he has to become a floating gas can with that fat block on the back)

Off topic, but did John completely remake the rear shape of his Uniflite, and go with his own customization? It's been blowing my mind since I saw it back in October in some pictures.

Yes, I guess the transom was soft so he just redesigned the whole back of his boat...
