The motor came off the transom without a hitch. I used a one ton come along and it worked perfectly. I made a dolly and towed the "body" back into the garage behind the garden tractor. All is going according to plan so far. Now comes all the prep work before the red is applied...

Lifting off the big Merc

When I was a kid I remember lifting my dad's 35 Johnson onto the transom by myself. Must be why I'm shorter now! Recently I had trouble lifting a Paragon V-drive. Later I weighed it. 280 pounds! OH! That's why!

30 years ago I used to make a living delivering furniture. Lately I find moving around 300 lb outboards and 350 lb V-8 long blocks leaves me with unexplained muscle strains and creaking joints. :eek:

I tell ya, there just ain't no justice anymore...
