  • First Salt Water run...

was an absolute blast! Even had the wife plow through the ever changing water by Pt. Defiance. Even cruised by the ole Kalakala looking sad to say the least. Anyway the Marvelous with the foamed hull plowed through with flying colors!

Awesome pictures. I'm guessing this means all the time spent on restoration was worth it. Sure looks good. B

Sure wish my boat were restored like yours. It looks great!
Going to bring it up for the Around Fidalgo Island trip on Aug. 1?

        John -

Just beautiful! I think we have even more in common now. I will get my BB in the water on Sunday and hopefully post some new pics (and video!) at the end of the day.
        Congrats on this gorgeous boat!

The Kalakala may be the coolest boat I have ever seen.

Did some internet research on it, what a vessel. If I were Gates/Allen I would blow a whole bunch of money restoring her.

Well the restoration was worth it! I do look forward to an outing with a bunch of other old boats soon! Jeff Ault brought his trusty Skagit Express for the pics.
I agree if money meant nothing the Kalakala would shine again. Thanks.

              Where is the Kalakala?

I would like to see her someday. Even in disrepair she is majestic.

Robert. Come on up and we'll splash ol' Midnight and go take a look at the Kalakala. I live a couple of miles from her. We can even put you put for your visit.

Absolutely! I have to see this boat.

I have plenty of time on my hands, so I am pretty much available anytime.

Let me know a time/times that we can get together.

                        Can I bring Heidi?

                        Let me know

                          Kalakala

Nice pics, nice boat. What is the story with the Kalakala? I'm in Portland so I never heard of it. Sure would be nice to see it restored.
