I have my eye on something else but this could be a really nice project and sometimes I have free time at work to search craigslist.

I did some work on one of those for a friend of mine and, well, never could get into that design for some reason.
But, after awhile, it grew on me and well, pretty sound little boat and of course, they have a excellent ride. They don't require a bunch of power either.
Those trailers restore Really nice. A couple of members have done so.
The half cabin bulkheads have to be in place or it will flex enough that I would worry about cracking that front Studebaker window. Those are like hens teeth.

They do turn heads like the rest of the Glassics.

Not sure if I have the health left to do this but I want to do glass stringer and a build up of this boat. Might be my last one. I Do have a place to park this one.
She was designed for the Chop in the San Francisco bay.

Joe, If it was not for the fact the Skagit 20' " Chippewa " i have now will be my last boat i sure would not mind doing another Dorsett. That boat is like seeing a old friend. Chuck

Not sure how but I will get that restored some how. Even thinking about opening up some sort of Fiberglass Boat Restoration School.
Wooden boat schools are available but not Fiberglass Glassics.

Lyle, Helmar, A couple of weeks ago I called the Craigslist listing on the fabuglass with the intention of buying the boat and trailer. The seller hung up on me ranting that I was going to cut up his boat. It was weird.

Wow, weird is right.
I looked again and it said the listing expired for me and I forget what he as asking but why would someone buy a boat to cut it up when I have Free ones that someone could do that too.
I was going to contact him and tell him I had some boat that were going to get cut up and see if he wanted to save them but, no number....
Purchase one to cut it up...Got to be more to it that we don't know about. Maybe he has been on the forum and seen me talking about me having some that would be going to the smasher.
Marty was cutting one up at one time..........Weird is right.

Didn't Marty cut up several of his boats, including that super rare 14 foot skagit?

Maybe he thought you were going to buy his just for the good hardware and glass... Some people have sentimental attachment to these old boats even though they know they aren't worth anything. Still don't ever want to have them scraped.

I think his ad said that his uncle founded Glaspar and designed these boats, so he probably does have a sentimental attachment to it. It could be that someone offered to buy it for the windshield or other parts and he flipped out.
