50 Johnson trade down?

I've got a 50 hp Johnson '71 ES that I'd like to trade down to a 30-35 hp. I have a small 14' runabout and this motor seems to be too much for what I need it for (fishing). The motor has great compression ( 150 in both cyls.) but will not start,but it turns over easily. Been sitting for awhile. Motor looks to be in good shape, otherwise.
