You are invited to participate in the Gig Harbor Antique and Classic Yacht Festival June 5 and 6. The weekend is Gig Harbor's annual kick off to summer fun, whereby the Maritime Gig Festival and the Blessing of the Fleet and Antique and Classic Yacht Festival all occur simultaneously that weekend. There will be prizes and some goody bags from local merchants. The yacht festival occurs at Jerisich dock in downtown Gig Harbor. This is a NO Cost event to the boat owner. We encourage all owners who would like to showcase their craft to attend. We just ask that the owner carry liability insurance for the vessel. On Saturday there will be a grand parade with frolic, queens, and pirates. Lots of food, some maritime history, talented local musicians and Saturday night we are bringing in the "Battle of the Bands" where the rhythm and blues winner heads to Memphis. Sunday is the blessing of the fishing fleet to include an ecumenical memorial, and processional all in dignified celebration of this years fisherman and their catch and those past fisherman lost at sea.
