A good time was had by all at the annual New Years Day brunch at Ivar's Salmon House on Lake Union. We had beautiful weather, too! Thanks to Tim for coordinating this event. The food was great, bountiful, and well worth the money. We had 24 people attend - most came by car. Hope everyone has a healthy, happy new year.

I second that
Nice photos Greg, thanks for posting them! I agree about the food, what a feast! I've certainly paid more for meals I've enjoyed less, of course the enjoyment had more to do with the company, even as good as the fare was.
It was great to see everyone again and a pleasure to meet Allan and Sue Martin, who said they are planning on attending more events in the coming year. They will be a welcome addition to our circle of friends and I look forward to getting to know them. Cindy and I really wanted to take advantage of Jay and Tara's generous offer to go for a cruise on Tabu, but couldn't this time. I hope those who did join them had a good time, maybe they'll post a picture or two so the rest of us can see what we missed.
The location of today's gathering was perfect for whetting our appetites for the next club event as we looked out on a beautiful sunny day and calm water, and contemplated the April 16th Lake Union / Ship Canal cruise. Details of that event will be posted soon.
I can't think of a better way to start this year than by being reminded what a great group of people we have in the club. I feel very fortunate to count those who attended today, as well as those who couldn't make it, as my friends.
Happy New Year!

What A Way To Start The New Year!
What a great way to start out the NewYear! Getting together with boating friends, and a buffet that was probably the very best we've ever indulged in! Thanks so much to Tim and Cindy for coordinating this event, and thanks also for the special commemorative mugs. We'll enjoy having coffee in them around our campfires this year. We enjoyed our cruise around Lake Union on the TABU (thanks Jan and Tara!). Happy New Year to you all, and we'll look forward to seeing you on the waters in 2011.:boater1:

Wow, sorry I missed the brunch. Great turnout! Have to limit the number of mainland trips in a month. Will be down this week for dad's B'day. He'll be 98 on Wednesday!
About noon on New Years day decided to take a short sea cruise to Jones Island.
Packed some food for dinner and breakfast and motored over to Jones, just five miles down the channel. 6" to 8" chop and wind out of the ENE at about 10-12. Snagged a mooring buoy on the south side and made dinner.
Wind let up about 5 and by six San Juan Channel was flat calm.
Beautiful sunset. A bit coolish. Had the diesel range going all night, so it wan't cold, just a long night. Glad to see the sun come over the horizon this morning. Coffee, eggs, sausage and hash browns plus a beautiful sun rise...great way to start off the new year.
Happy New Year to all and look forward to seeing you all on the waterways.
