We want to thank all of you who came the distance for our Lake Mayfield event. The lake and weather (mid-80's) couldn't have been more beautiful. We launched nine of our "classics", and enjoyed touring up and down the "grotto" and the Ike Kinsma channel ("Party Boat Bay"):boater1:We all preferred to spend our time boating, rather than fishing, so that's what we did. We saw the debut of two of our new members' classics. Sean, Isabelle & 3-yr old son Cedric, in their '67 inboard Glaspar Seafair sedan (Solstice), and Jack and Elsa Leslie in their '62 Pacific Mariner Stiletto. Despite lug net problems on the trip down, we were glad that Jan Norvold made it to enjoy the day in his '56 Bell Boy. Robyn and Tom Hansen ventured up from Newport Oregon to join us in their Glaspar Runabout, along with Cheryl and Gordon Davies in their Glaspar runabout. Richard Ambersen looked mighty sporty in his '60 Thompson, along with Ingvar Carlson in his 1953 Old Town lapstrake classic (complete with two dogs who really seemed to be enjoying their day on the water!) It was great to have Bruce Bridwell and family show up on the water, sporting their 20' Skagit, the "Willa B". Thanks to all of you who provided the great food for our potluck Congratulations to Richard, who won the door prize (mini-camp stove with propane bottle).
We ended the evening around a campfire, complete with Sean's ukelele version of "If I Only Had a Brain". Lots of fun and a great day. We missed those of you who were not able to make it, and thanks again to those of you who made this such a successful event.
See you on the water!
FAIR WINDS AND CALM SEAS TO YOU.:boater1:
P.S. Enjoy the pictures.
