It doesn't appear this will be a good day for boating, several concerns are stacking up with warnings.
    1. The Snohomish River is getting close to flooding.
    2. Weather forecast is for rain.
    3. Timing belt is broken on my truck.

I purpose another date for Saturday March 15th at 2pm and we will be off the River at 6pm.

To make this work you will need to be in the water and ready to go at 2pm the tide waits for no one.

So arrive at the launch site by 130 pm.

After the trip I know of a good Mexican cafe with plenty of parking in Snohomish.

Since the trip date got moved closer to spring (7 days away) I'm thinking there maybe more interested Captians.

Lowell, I second this idea! My crew are all busy and with being mr. mom on the weekends, I haven't had a chance to dig the boat out from under the winter storage pile... I've only gotten as far as getting a charger on the battery

Well, one good thing that I am also hearing is we should have a Long Warm Summer. Must mean Lots of Boating

I Did get out to the boat and pull the battery out. I have a place to back it in out of the weather as to maybe add my kicker bracket to her.
      Yep, Getting real antsy

Hang in there Lowell, it will come together once the sun comes out for Sure

        • Brian--- give your son something to do while coming along--- like steer. Do hope to see you on a trip this summer.
        • Helmar---I know the sun will be coming out this summer but the problem with this trip-- is it should be done at high tide. In the Summer the high high tides are in the middle of the night. You can be in this area at a lower tide but I just like an extra 4 or 5 feet of water below the hull, then I don't need to worry much--- just go and have fun with some speed.

Lowell, are you still thinking of going out Saturday? Weather report is looking rather poor again. How are the river levels?

            Brian,
You are correct it is now a 60% chance of rain. I thought I would wait until Friday morning to make the call, you never know. This is too bad! I really wanted to get out there, I was going to go alone if no one wanted to go. Were you thinking of attending with child in tow? The river is not flooding, timing belt on the truck was replaced for the cost of 4 blackberry boats, now the weather is too wet. Too bad too, sun was out for the last 2 days in Snohomish.

Lowell, I spent all day Wed. getting my boat ready but looking at the weather and the possibility that there is probably a fair amount of crap in the water right now from the water being near flood stage a few days ago I am not going out. I don't need anymore prop or lower unit problems right now. I hope the weather is better on April 19th so we can go out then. Thanks for coordinating this run it is much appreciated. Lets keep an eye on the tides and weather and maybe we can try again soon.

The weather forecast isn't getting any better. Hard to cancel the trip because the sun is shining as I type this. I will just say its off for Saturday, but" if it is a weird day and the sun is out I will be there".

There are other dates where the tides look good and that would be
                1. March 28th,
                2. March 29th
                3. April 12th.

Stay tuned I will let anyone know if I'm going out on those days. Same times and launch locations.

What happened nice all last weekend? Friday looks like a washout---so pushed the date to Saturday the 29th. Anyone still interested even if it is overcast but no rain?

I can't make it on the 29th. Lowell are you putting on the river run in April also?

Good times are not to be had. Saturday--- 80% of rain and thunder. This does not sound like a fun time to me--- the trip is off---. Kelly I'm not sure about April 12th. The tides are good then so maybe keep checking this area. Hope to see you on the water soon with your baby.

Sunday's weather looks to be amazing however I'm dropping my boat of Thursday to get a canvas top made, it won't be done until Tuesday. Bummer I have to miss this..

                              Kelly,
If you don't mind me asking how much do they charge just to make a basic one, no side curtains. Just something simple to keep the rain and sun off. My boat looks somewhat like yours.

Sorry you can't make it. This is a rather unusal trip because it feels like you are away from it all.
There are large ocean fish boats tied up in the back water sloughs, and very few houses along the banks. There are islands back there in thoses waters that were never logged and are now set aside for wildlife habitat. Hope to see on Lake Washington.
