Here are some miscellaneous shots from yesterday's run on the Columbia River. (See details in postings below...)
It was really a shame that Scott and Fran couldn't get their engine started at the marina--brand new batteries, utterly dead shortly after purchase--and of course it was too bad Tom's propshaft coupling separated after grounding near Puget Island...but otherwise I think everyone had a good time, and the variety of classics in our 13-boat fleet was unprecedented: three mahogany inboard runabouts, two lapstrake wooden outboards, one vintage plywood cruiser, one classic-glass runabout and six vintage fiberglass cruisers, for a sum total of six woodies and seven classic-glass boats--perfect balance!
