August 1st outing...

My wife and i are planning to take the Marvelous up to the Great Northend of our State to meet up with you all. I read the posting-
Most of us will launch at Cornet Bay, Deception Pass (the north end of Whidbey Island), to begin the beautiful run north along the outside shore of Fidalgo Island, then east through Guemes Channel and past Anacortes...and then south through Swinomish Channel to LaConner, and back to Cornet Bay via Skagit Bay, on the inside of Whidey Island. This circumnavigation involves every kind of Northwest marine scenery, from the rocky walls of Deception Pass to a brief look at the Strait of Juan de Fuca, followed by a run alongside the San Juan Islands and a protected cruise through the river-like Swinomish Channel--something for everybody! Stay tuned to the forum for details as we get closer to the event.

Let us know any new details so we can prepare. Never to soon right.

John, Maybe we could meet up at Wal Mart parking lot at my exit # 183 I-5 ( one exit north of where I-405 and I-5 merge back into I-5 northbound ) by Mill Creek and go to Cornet Bay boat launch together ? Chuck

That sounds Great Chuck. You tell me a time and we will meet you there. This is a day trip right? I guess i am excited to finally get out to see you all.

John, How about meeting at 8:15 am. I believe the plan is to leave Cornet Bay at about 10:00 am. Yes it is a day trip unless you want to stay out there all night. Going to bring the G-3 as i think it would be a great ride to go thru Deception Pass and out into the Sound with it. Anyone else ? Chuck

Are you towing the g3 behind the Farallon as a dingy or are you wanting an escort/rescue team fore and aft??? I hate towing my boat around so i plan on launching at Everett and motoring up to meet you all at Cornet Bay.

Yeah my chain is stretched. How long would you guess it will take to arrive at the meeting point? I am thinking about 1 1/2 hours? I drive slow.

Are you bringing your bride along on this one? Looking forward to the trip.

John, From our exit about 1 1/2 hours at about 60 mph or less. Sheila has to work Aug 1st , but will be at the LaConner Boat Show Aug 15th. Going to bring both the Farallon & Skagit i think. Chuck

Maiden Dorsett voyage

Sarah & I are planning on joining up with the group somewhere out there . We will be at Obstruction Island all next week and cruising from there. Let me know what time you are all putting in and where? Clint suggested with the tides you go through the slough first and around the other direction? We could catch lunch in La Connor ? Just need to know, we can catch up in the Guemes Channel or Cornet bay. We would have to go through Deception pass to get to you if it's cornet bay in the morning.So I have to make SURE on the tide flow if thats where we meet up ??

Aug 1st Change Of TIME

Marty asked me to post this as he is at work. Will be leaving Cornet Bay no later than 9:15 am because of currents condition will be at maximun flood at 10:03 am. Marty will meet us at Bowman Bay just outside of Deception Pass Area at a float. We will be going around by Anacortes Thru LaConner ( Lunch ? ) and back to Cornet Bay in the afternoon. Who will be attending ? Chuck

You could meet us at Bowman Bay just outside of Deception Pass Area. Marty will be there at a float waiting for the rest of us. We will be going around by Anacortes Thru LaConner ( Lunch ? ) and back to Cornet Bay in the afternoon. Chuck

That sounds good Chuck we can find you on the west side of Fidalgo somewhere or the Guemes channel like where I found you guys on the Cypress run. I'll check Channel 69 if I'm late getting to Bowman bay. We are doing our first Sea Trials with the Dorsett this Sunday so HOPEFULLY things will be going good and we will still be out there next Sat. We plan to Island hop all week in the heat !! I'll call you mid week sometime and let you know how it's going
