As events usually go, this one was fairly uneventful. The sling launch broke, the usual motor problems, oh, and the FOG...
a tow through Deception against the tide, and i guess a good time as had by all. More to follow tomorrow as after 120 miles on the sea I'm tired.

Towing into Deception pass

This was my first time piloting a small boat through Deception. To do it towing another boat of similar size made it that much more interesting, along with the 30' boats charging by at full throttle, one guy I had to blow the horn at before he turned aside. What a Thrill! Well more of a, well, exciting ride. The waves you see are about 4-6 feet, and the current is going 7-10 mph against us, the wind from behind. The Honda was at 4 to 4.5k rpm and we were doing 2 to 2.5 mph on the gps. The pitot tube speedo had us 10-12. I think I'll keep the Honda. One thing through this day I learned, is how really capable our old boats are. On the way home through Saratoga passage, the more modern and powerful deep V's were struggling as much as i was through the 2-4' Chop.
