This is a big spill, but not as big as the Ixtoc 1 spill also in the Gulf in 1979 which lasted nine months and spilled three million barrels (126 million gallons) Owned by Pemex (Mexican oil)

In Prince William Sound, after Exxon ran aground,the Pink Salmon return one-two years later was a huge run never seen in those numbers before but with no herring to feed their offspring,the next years were a total bust.
Seems if you take out every predator ,you get instant success/survival on one hand ,while your other goes empty when the Food Chain has been removed of one cornerstone that feeds those suddenly abundant stocks.
The Shrimp are like water filters and knowing they load up with Biotoxins that accumulate over time,this can`t be good when they die or get eaten.
It will work it`s way into our bodies eventually.......
Losing the Mangroves for reasons other than growth will mean Hurricane storm surges will push onward with little to stop it.
Glad all those Recovery /Boom boats have nice 4 strokes on them,we wouldn`t want to taint that water you know.:boater1:
