Trying to share a wild ride we took the other day.Let`s see if this works or not...3rd try.....
It was truly "SafeButInsane" as my fishing friends call me.....or my boat that is.Haven`t used it in a few years ,time to gear up for work at Seafair Hydro races doing Towing duties. For once ,I hope I don`t see any of you ,or at least at the end of our tow line that is.:boater1:

Neat! Would have been neater with sound. I'm guessing you failed to write and sing your own song to accompany the visuals or maybe failed to send the check to the recording artist who did the original. What is the world coming to? Suppose Utube would have cut out the sound if you had the radio on in the background. Okay, enough of my rant. Guess artists do own their creations but...

        Steve ,
When the West Seattle Water Taxi is broke down in the mornings ,I bet I could make some $ and save some late workers with a "5 minutes or it`s Free" slogan.ex-mayor Nickels would be exempt from that offer,he`d make it close.
This prototype/Safe 15`Hull is pretty short so once in awhile we get into waves a little bigger than we are and get "stuffed".Usually when the driver chicken`s out and backs off instead of "Driving it like it`s Stolen" and just flying over most of the waves out there.
It really is like a Jetski but for 4 trusting friends........and just a little more comfy standing up.
The prop was a mere 17`` so when the 21`` goes on ,it will really look like we speeded up the film.40 gallon tank is dry for now ,using measured tanks.
Once top speed numbers in,I`ll gas her up for ballast.
        And Jerry,
My wife has Deep Purple`s "Smoke on the Water" on this version. Her first choice was Queen,"Tie your Mother Down."
We used to fish right up to the rocks at Tattoosh Island near Neah Bay and also run out to Swiftsure Bank for Halibut ,one day even shooting down the La Push on the same trip.135 miles of open ocean water,26 miles out at one point.
With no spare motor or vhf in those days,I really was testing both the boat and my luck.
I may use my 70 hp at the Races as Towing is all slow going, and the south end of the lake is a no wake zone all weekend.
We wouldn`t want to be unsafe with Blue Angels doing 500 mph passes overhead and 180 mph boats racing in a circle with boats around the course tied up to make a fence.

Ask your wife what music she'd put with this if I were to buy it to take the place of Rosario while she gets a new transom. http://bellingham.craigslist.org/boa/2522086963.html

                Jack,
You stole my thunder....was lying in bed this am and that song popped into my head as I pictured Jerry`s "new Playhouse".Come down to find the soundclip and add it to the picture......but too late.
That kind of boat you take to Seafair ,then leave for the clean-up crews.
Now I never suggested that anyone actually DO that.:BigWink1:
Jerry, just make sure your new boat "has a place to sleep" as my wife would say.

Brian, the boat is all yours (unless someone else with a flair for the rediculous beats you to it). Becky says "no way" and whatever Becky wants, Becky gets. Might be a song in there somewhere. Oh, yah, I'm way to young to remember the theme song of Sanford and Son. Suppose I might find it on You Tube.

                      Hey Mike,
Glad your back in the groove!
This 120hp motor is a 120/140 hp 1993 Block that came from Wyo as a trade-in here locally.
Being an agency-owned hull from an area with snow+ Ice (also read Snowmobiles in winter....low use on boats) I grabbed it when the boat buyer wanted to hang a 4 stroke on the 16 Bass boat.
This engine has an Ocean Pro mid-section and nice side covers that strip down to reveal the frame and mid-section with easy access to carbs and shift pin once a few screws are pulled.
This thing blew almost 145 in each hole so it`s still at the top of it`s power-output.
At Seafair we briefly towed a 3 person Sea-Doo at 18 mph on Gps.We were in 2-3 foot confused seas so it wasn`t your normal situation.
A 90/115 hp would be a little smaller and actually are more compact than both the 120 hp + the 70 hp 3 cyls I also love to use and own.
Like Ingvar ,I feel "the need for speed" to be answered on occasion.

Doug must have figured out he can fit a half dozen or so Bikes in the Garage where one classic boat would have resided before.
Price of gas may have had something to do with his aquisition which is probably smarter than our Classic Boat hobby.....or my massive V-4 Johnny.

                              Less gas, but ...

After 35 years of street riding, one thing I like about boating is that no one has ever pulled out in front of me, made a left turn in front of me, dropped a canoe off their truck in front of me at 70 mph (really), or otherwise made my heart stop beating for a moment.

Still love riding, but boating is oh so much more relaxing.
