Hey guys,
Not many own newer Yamahas on here but needed to share something I saw yesterday while servicing a newer 2007 150 hp.
The owner wanted a new main Yamaha fuel filter which I got at the dealer.
When removing the old one ,I always dump it in a clean glass jar to see what has collected if at all.
Didn`t see much inside except blu PAINT turning to jelly and rolling around the top portion of the filter screen.
Opened the new one to see the paint overspray in the same area.
Took only a mere swipe with my fingernail to start loosening flaky blu paint I used to think was no issue.
I bet they have no idea at the factory of this.......but sell a ton of carbs and Fuel injector sets.
I`ll try to snap a pic as I mount it this am....
