God Father @ Bham Maritime Museum

Art Nordvedt ( Bell Boy- Uniflite ) is supposed to make an appearance at the Bellingham Maritime Museum this Sat @ 1400 Hrs. if anybody is interested and in the area. Museum is located at the bottom of Cornwall Ave. across from the Georgia Pacific Power generating plant. They have some interesting boats to see and only open on Sat. till spring. Entry is by donation and you enter on the north end of the building.
They also have a couple small boats that are for sale and a couple Viet Nam River boats that they want to sell ???

Rick and Melanie,
Wish I could be there. If you could check out and photograph the PBR's (Patrol Boat River) would appreciate it. WOuld like to restore one of those.
The Skagit 31 was the first hull the Navy looked at for the PBR roll.

Hovercraft & P.B.R. shots

Well Art Nordvedt (Head guy for Bell Boy & Uniflite ) was there and had a few good stories about Uniflite,Bell Boys and Skagits. Art approved my Skagit ! Melanie showed up and looked around . Art still is really sharp and has a wealth of Knowledge about the local boat history.

Here are a few shots of the P.B.R. and a Hovercraft . This is the only Hovercraft of this type left that served in Vietnam. P.B.R. were 31' and Uniflite made 500 of them.

The picture of Mike Granat and Art was pretty funny because Mike was showing him the Boat that was just donated by NOAA and Art just shook his head and told him the design of the hull was no good !
