Jerry, Very nice picture of Rosario ! Will send you some pictures. Wait till you see Illahee in Blue White,Brown,Green and maybe a little Purple ! It will be painted by the end of Sept and then into the Garage. Really happy on getting the used King trailer in such good condition and the 85 hp Merc with T/T from Dr. Frankenmerc. Going to be switching trailers soon and then give it back to Marty. Chuck

John, I even have the G-3 in there tonight. This winter the G-3 ( i would like to kick Sheila's car out of the garage , but that will not happen ) will be out in the shelter as i will be more or less working nonstop up onto Christmas in the garage on the Skagit and then after the holidays hit it again into March. Then i will be able to go back out onto the Sound. Chuck

          My new 1964 Dorsett Catalina....HELP !!!!!

          Hey Rick and Sarah-
I live in Northern CA and just bought a this boat in Discovery Bay over the weekend and it nows sits on trailer in Alameda where I work. I should start out by saying I have a limited amount of boating experience and even less mechanical skills but I fell in love with this boat at first sight.
Right away reality set in when I realized there was a lot of wood rot in the cuddy cabin that looks like it extends back towards the transom. It probably needs new stringers but I'm a little tentative about just ripping out the floor and ruining the hull. I saw your post and saw you had the same year. My first question would be how to I see how bad the wood rot is in both the cuddy cabin and main deck ? Do I drill exploratory holes or do I rip out glass deck and expose stringers? How many stringers are there and do they extend all the way from transom to bow ?
I am excited about getting into this and with the help of a couple of friends I look forward to getting into the SF bay and Delta for some exploring.
Thanks in advance for any tips and advice .
          Mike
