  • Took the Saratogan over to Parks Bay

Been wanting to get some pictures of the Skagit 31 Saratogan on anchor.
Went over to Parks Bay on Shaw Island this afternoon. Put the boat on anchor and jumped into my dinghy..realized I didn't have any oars. So had to make an oar.

Enjoyed the sunny afternoon. On the way back to FH, firewalled the throttles from about 1200 rpm. Better be hanging on when the turbos kick in!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness.":shocked4:

          Majestic...wow that's a $5 word!

Majestic, that's a $5 word. Not sure any Skagit rates Majestic. If I were to pick a word for the Saratogan, it would be Toowittoowe! What is the definition of toowitttoowe you might ask?

            under the radar

Gotta love any KJR reference!...Way to get some break-in hours on those diesels Tim.

Wondering how the big Skagit feels in hybrid/stealth mode?

He was one for making up words. He used to hail the space critters he was sure were listening with "AH-DOH-NAY-VAH-SOO". I don't think he ever got a reply and I don't remember the exact meaning (or spelling). It might make a good name for a boat, but Toowittoowe would be a much better one for the Saratogan.

I am just chuckling at the situation you had at Parks. Imagine what it would look like to come around the corner and see someone 100 yards from their boat in a dingy with homemade oars and a camera. Only in a classic boat! I am pretty sure you won't find any BayL%*$@& owners doing the same.

                  Elegant Juan

The name "Elegant Juan" came to me in the dark of night.
Couldn`t find a word or name to describe it until I was dreaming.
