    one of these days

Long live the Sande Ace! Thanks for sharing Ed, keep up the beautiful work Bob, et al... :cool1:

Hope to see your group and these great little boats around very soon.

I learned earlier this year that my family had a Sande named "the slough runner" while living in Kenmore, before I was born in '66. I bet many of you have some experience with these speedsters??

      Thanks, Greg!

Did your family have an Ace or was it the cedar strip boat like Chuck M's shown here at the PT Wooden Boat Festival?

Do you have pictures of the boat?

The picture in your post shows Ned Hamlin with friends Dick Durant and Dave Hammond at the 1963 Opening Day Boat Parade in Seattle. They were hired to sing the songs of the day on a yacht there and showed up in the Hamlin's Sande Ace. Do I hear some Kingston Trio?

        in my DNA?

        Hey Wally,

I was told that my parents pulled a red, white & mahogany '59 Sande Ace behind a '57 Chev. As far as I can tell, there aren't any pictures-but have a ton of slides to get through from that era. Though I was 6+ years from being born, the love of these nostalgia pieces must've been passed along.

At my Mom's funeral this year, I spoke to my long lost Dad about his interest in boats when he was young...he recalled really wanting a Pacific Mariner Stiletto or Glasspar g3, but a home purchase got in the way. Ironically, I had to laugh telling him that both of those boats are in my armada today...And, I just purchased that home.

        Circle completed.
