  • Slough Run

Who all will be coming to the slough run on Saturday? Jeff and I will be in our little 1965 Fiberform, properly named "Smokey and The Bandit." This snow should melt off and hopefully increase the depth of the slough. Jeff and I will be dropping off a vehicle at Coulon at about 8:15 and then head over to Issaquah for breakfast. Who's playing?

    MMM donuts

I'll be there for breakfast and "le grande departure". It looks like we got plenty of snow. Kathie sent me this picture about 7:00 AM. I've been in Everett since 5:00 AM and the sun is out here.

      Who's Participating on Saturday?

So far, and approximately, here's who will be participating on Saturday...with apologies to anyone I'm forgetting:

Launching on Lake Washington at 9:30, and running up to Kenmore--or at least all around the lake--will be Chuck Carey, Kent and Diane, Steve Kiesel, Chuck Bauer and Greg James.

Launching at Lake Sammamish State Park at 10 a.m. will be Greg Silcox and Jeff Ault, Tom Horn of Portland, Ken Bakke of Vancouver, WA, Brian Flaherty and his zany crew, Barry Bates, and John Nelson...who says he'll zip down to the start of the Slough but return to the ramp at Lake Sammamish.

Marty will be at the Lake Sammamish ramp to take photos; Tim McCrain will shoot photos of Slough Runners from a few different bridges along the route, and a few people (including Marty) will offer shuttle services from Coulon Park to Lake Sammamish, so that Slough Runners can retrieve their tow rigs.

Let's please exchange all of our cell numbers, since anything can happen--and it usually does--during this fun event.

      Mine is (360) 301-6737.

As things seem to go, the tow rig drive line is out and won't be together in time, and i have to work in the early AM! So The Sabrecraft will remain on the trailer in the drive, and maybe I'll be off in time to ride my bike over to Kenmore to meet and take pic's on the way to hills i am training on for the STP. Hope to see some of you...

                          Better Late than never..

So pending the charging of at least one good battery (have two questionable batteries) We will be there for breakfast in Sammamish and the Voyage..

                          My cell is (425)218-9997

With our current record for slough runs being 3-3 over the past 9 years we will most likely be in need of tow, so I got my rigger buddy to make me a 50' amsteal bow line...

                          See ya'll in the morning!
