Tolly Tollefson turns 100

Monday January 24th, boatbuilder Tolly Tollefson turns 100! There is a party planned in Port Ludlow on the 22nd. Would be great if NWCBC could send a member to the party. Marty?

Three Sheets Northwest will be running a story on Tolly next Monday. Speaking of Three Sheets Northwest, this is a great website and I'd like to see a link on NWCBC to Three Sheets.

Three Sheets will be running a story on the Saratogan that will appear on the 24th.

Tolly drew sketches of what he wanted and Ed Monk drew the blueprints.

I'd love to attend, but the event is being tightly controlled by the Tollycraft Club, and tickets were sold out before I knew about it. (According to the club's website, absolutely nobody will be allowed in the door without having registered.)

I talked with the event coordinator, Brett and said would be great if we could have a club member attend the party. He seemed fine with it. I suggested you, since you are on that side of the peninsula. I gave him your number.

I also put Brett in touch with Art Nordvedt figuring Art and Tolly were old rivals and probably buddies. Two ferry rides for Art, so a bit of a jaunt, not sure if Art and his wife will make it. If you're serious about going, I'll contact Brett again and put you two in touch......

We were going to take our tiny Tolly over for the Birthday celebration, but $60 per person for the lunch and a two hour drive each way towing the boat in the rain adjusted that plan. Maybe we will just raise a glass (or four) and sing Happy Birthday to Mr. Tolly on our own!

FYI, I heard back from Brett and I'll be attending Saturday's festivities. They were totally sold out, but he said I could sneak in and join the party, which will be great since I've never met Tolly in person.
