Detroit Lake, possible event location

On the way back from Jarrel Cove we camped at Detroit Lake State Park for two days. Never been there before. What a nice lake to have a boating event on. I used to live in Salem and have been there a few times. The lake is just about the right size for runabouts. Not sure what the launch is like though. I know it can get windy up there and water conditions can get rough. Also, there isn't always water in the lake as they drain and fill from melt off depending on snow levels and seasonal rain.
