  • Reinell Lineup, 1955

We recently added a history of the Reinell company to the website (see link on Home Page), and while doing research we found some additional photos of the 1955 lineup of the Marysville boatbuilder.

In the first photo, below, you see some of the boats offered by the company, as shown in a 1955 ad in SEA & Pacific Motor Boat magazine. In the second shot, you see their just-announced, new 20 foot outboard cruiser model, powered for the photo by a then-new Mark 25 Merc outboard (20 hp!) Obviously, the guy in the stern has his hand on the throttle, and we know it's got to be in the wide-open position...but considering the outboard choices we make today, it's astounding to see the 20-foot cruiser running along nicely with a little 20hp engine.

But not out of the question- heck, I use a Merc 200 (20hp) as a kicker/get home motor on my 17' Larson.
