  • Classic Boat Inquiry

    Good morning everyone,
I am an editor with Sea and Boating World Magazine, and came across your boat club while searching the Internet.
The two publications spotlight a classic boat every month (yachts for sea, smaller powerboat for Boating World) with a photo spread and a 200-300 word article on the history of the model, as well as the history of the current owner’s restoration. I would love to feature one of your member’s boats in our July issue and would like to see if there is any interest to participate. Due to everyone’s hectic schedule, the interview could be done by email, giving the responder as much time to respond to the questions as needed. It also helps in minimizing the amount of last names spelled incorrectly.

To give you an idea of what our classic boat section entails, here is a digital version of April’s Boating World:

I will periodically check this thread to see if I have any nibblers. If you would like to reach me directly, my email address is chris@goboating.com
    Thanks for your time.

Chris, thanks for the invite. I'm a subscriber to Boating World, and enjoy your section on classics. I'm sure someone will step up to have their boat featured.

Chuck, you should consider doing an article on the big blue Dorsett.

      Suggestion.

The idea of Chuck's Dorsett is a good one. I was wondering if Tim Jones 31 ' Saratoga wouldnt make a great story. I for one want to be up on San Juan Island in June for the launching. I am planning to take Dreaman up to Anacortes that first week-end in June, and head for Friday Harbor and possibly spend some time cruising the islands if enough Classic friends are interested. Let's here the interest because its only 2 months away...Don

          Farallon, Saratogan

          Steve, Don and Chuck -

Yes, for some future issue, Tim's Saratogan would be a spectacular candidate, and I'd be happy to write about it since I'm already planning to do a feature article on the boat's history, restoration and launch party.

Chuck and Steve, I can write an article on the Farallon, too. What's your deadline for the July issue?
