Unfortunately after some discussion about the logistics of making this event happen we have decided it is not feasible for us to get the boat, us and a six week old baby up and on the road for a 3.5+ hour road trip south... Makes us both sad to accept the reality that we are going to miss the last ever Mason Lake event but I guess that's just the harsh reality of having a baby in the game...

We will be back out for the events next year for sure!!

Just a light drizzle over here on the west side of the sound today. Tomorrows weather should be adequate for some boating by 10:00 am.

                      Mason Lake

It was a great time and I wish more members could have participated. Weather turned out fine too. Several were taking pictures and I hope they post them soon, otherwise I would have shot more pictures. My G-3 got wet for the first time in 20+ years. The Mark 75 had some minor ignition issues but seemed to smooth out later. Denny Johnson (AOMCI/ACBS) accompanied.

It was a great day to be on Mason lake yesterday. Super smooth with little to no boat traffic. A big thanks to Bruce for giving the kids a ride in his sweet power cat!

All in all... a great day on the water. It was good seeing everyone!

Thanks Helmar for the Mason lake event, enjoyed meeting alot of new people. One thing nice about a small group is that you get to spend more time talking to everyone and finding out more about them. They become more than just name and you find out other interest other than the boats like Rc aircraft and rc cars and restoring cars.(going down the same road) Again really enjoyed talking to everyone. Here are some pics that Deb took at the lake. We missed the G-3 must have been out on the water running down the lake
                            Thanks again, Deb and Dave

                                Mason Lake 2012

I am truely sorry that I was unable to join you folks at Mason Lake.
As the host for the Simpson Recreation Area as a retired employee, I intended on being present.
Sadly,...As perhaps most of you may know,...My health is in the toilet, and sadly I was physically unable to join you folks for the outing.
I am unable to spend more than about (5) minutes in my boat these days without experiencing extreme pain simply from the walk from the trailer parking to the boat.
I use a walker most days simply to 'stagger' out to the Mercury Magic Shop, where I try to stay busy as long as I can before the pain overwhelms me.
My sorry old carcass (primarily my back & right leg) has given up on me I fear.
Regence,...My long time health insurance provider, has refused to pay for a potentially helpful lower back surgery offered by the U of W's Spinal Surgery Specialists, which I fealt VERY fortunate even to have gained their attention.
Sadly the appeal has been declined too and I am currently seeking the assistance of the Insurance Commisioner's Office for further assistance.
Please add me to your prayer list if you are of faith, and keep yer fingers crossed in any event.
I AM fortunate in another way though.
I have inherited a 40 foot piece of western exposure waterfront on Island Lake, located in Mason County, WA 98584.
I hope to develope the property so that I can host a future NWCBC gathering there.
Currently I have a new well, and new septic system installed, but I still need to have electricity and its' related ditch completed so that I can put the well & septic 'on line' for use.
I intend to put a 'well house' with a toilet inside on the property.
I already have an existing boat launch on the property, and since my brother owns the connecting 40 ft lot, I am confident there will be plenty of parking 'IF' I can orchestrate this gathering place for classic boating fans like you and me.
I will keep Tim McC posted and look forward to sharing my blessing with all of you.
