  • Uniflite Boats

I have all of the paperwork on my boat from the original owner to my grandpa who purchased it back in '64. Even have the glass promo ashtray in new condition. Not much on the smaller Uni's on the web though as far as production numbers, development, etc. It seems that there aren't too many 19's around.

Here is a pic of my 19' express. If any of you all have a Uniflite I would like to hear from you. I have had a Homelite on mine for a couple of years now and am in process of installing the second one for this years boating season.

I have not found much information on the Uniflite boats either.
It seems that about the only information that has been found is the larger 24 and up boats or, that little 14 ft Runabout they made.
Pretty sure mine is a 17 foot boat.

2 40hp Johnsons, several smaller Old kickers for a total of 12

I'm with you with regards to my research. I was just telling my wife yesterday that it seems odd that I can't find any publications/ads/sale stuff other than a 1 page script on fiberglassics that covers length & weight. You would think that living in WA where they were made, I could find more...
I believe mine is also a 17' and original paint.

My friend John Nelson stopped by today and I found out he still has his Bearcats. He like Dick Johnson has the Bearcat 85hp engines along with the 55hp Bearcats.
He is not willing to let his go either..... He is watching for one for you too.
John is the one that has the OD green 17 Uniflite you see on the website rotation pictures.

We talked a little about the Uniflite information and he said the same thing I had heard before. Uniflite was sold and the new owners were not going to do the smaller craft and just pitched everything in the garbage.
All I can hope for is that Someone found that information, stuck it into box and crammed it up it the attic maybe.. If so, hope its discovered soon

I've seen the pictures you're referring to of John's Uniflite...very nice! I noticed his is slightly different than ours but looks to be a 17' also...what year is it?
Have you guys ever had all 3 of your Uniflites together on an outing?

Nice Uniflite. If I remember correctly, 61_express is over in Idaho. Sure would be fun to get a few glassics together over there next summer. Lake Roosevelt or one of the lakes in Idaho. I know it's a ways to travel, but I can't be the only one retired with nothing better to do. Think about it. Those are big lakes, they must have some big fish.

LOL well.....I have 35 years to go till i get to retire. But I do have a pretty killer work schedule (4 on 3 off - 4 on 5 off). Lots of blueback and trout fishing here in North Idaho.

Man, those ads are EXACTLY what I've been scouring the net for! Where did you find those?
I now believe I have a 1958 17' Express, whereas 10 minutes ago I really wasn't sure. My title says '58, the WA state ad on VIN says '58, but as with old cars, I never truly believe what a title says until I have some solid proof.

My next question is what year did they incorporate the larger windows and gunnel changes? 59? 60 or 61?

Steve, as it stands right now in this thread, 50% are retired
I'm not part of the 50%

Sounds like a Fireman work schedule ?

Just as soon as we can get the Gallery back up and working like it should, I will make a directory that is for uniflite.
I hope you can put those images in there. I will have it setup as so it will take a better resolution for sure.
That way, you can scan those in a little hotter.
I also have some Bearcat ads that I will put up in the Bearcat section too.
First chance I get that is.
