  • Running my Glasscraft

Put my 1959 Glasscraft w 1962 Merc 850 in the water this weekend. This sure is a fun boat to drive! The 6 cylinders on the Merc have more than enough power to push this 18 foot boat up to 30+ mph my speedometer tops out at 30).
Thanks to Marty for selling me the motor and to Thom Adams for making it run sweet!

25' Skagit (1960) Two of them. What am I thinking?

Be prepared for MrKnowItAll to join the discussion, offering his patented unsolicited advice on optimum camera angles, light level parameters, coast guard regulations, crustaceon formations, dangers of trampolines, turn radius compensation, proselitizations on modern equipment far more expensive than all running boats in the club combined, what makes ink dry, why the Dodgers won't can't win the division, and the time he split the atom with a fishing lure while accelerating with twin Heinlacher turbo diesel screw drives in a snow storm...oh- don't forget that it isn't a Skagit, he wasn't on the water today with his minions of copilots, because he had to reposition the febelflexer adjustment on his compass declination abdicator, before he demonstrates his superior captaining skills to a now empty dock of classic boat lover's.

Keep up the good work, hope to see you at an impromptu get- together soon,

        Greg

You're right Cllnt, this is the wrong place to complain when someone (DMCI) rubs you the wrong way. I will take my grievance offline, and will steer clear of commenting on forum posts.

        good boating all!

Dave, Every once in awhile we get somebody who decides to slam somebody else on this web. It is totally unacceptable and is one of the main reasons why our membership is down. I don't understand what this guy was trying to say or why, but I would hope that you would consider the source and try to ignore it. I have enjoyed your posts and your enthusiasm and hope you will continue being an active member. People who act like this guy has need to be banned from the board.
