    That is well-deserved!

Well it just goes to show you what it takes to win that puppy!

You set the bar pretty high for the rest of us, but it was well-deserved. In my opinion your vessel is without peer and the judge's opinion only reflects that.

      The Judges

Well, this came about primarily because of my suggestion last year that they add another category for in water boats. As I pointed out to them, it was usually the same wood boats that won every year.

Mark Dewar's 20 foot Bertram was a close second in classic glass. I want to encourage other classic glass owners to display their boats in the water.

By the way, the judges were the people's choice.

          Great job Tim!

For once, Bruce's Skagit didn't win, Tim won!:cool1:

All that hard work paid off. She looks great!

Yes, Mark had a very pretty boat as well. That Bertram 20 is about the smallest boat that Dick built. He told me that it was an all up restoration and I was very impressed with the fact that he had brought it down its own bottom. Later I was somewhat disillusioned when I saw the boat sitting on a trailer.

That thing has all the characteristics of the bigger moppies even down to a 24° dead rise and uncharacteristically large beam.

A very pretty little pocket yacht.

              Tim-
Very well deserved, indeed. It's about time there was a fiberglass in- water category, surprised that La Conner hadn't thought of it, considering the rich history of glass boatbuilding in the town.
A candidate that also comes to mind is the Dunlop tug Susie, owned by Ron Rennebohm. It has a well documented history and rides on a Skagit glass hull.
But I digress.....Sweet Zoeanna does truly show a loving restoration of a very unique piece of boatbuilding history, one that is very under publicized.
The connection of Tim and this boat go back to his childhood, and his fateful
find of the boat later in life, not to mention the determination to find the resources and time to pull off the restoration.
Thanks, Tim, for your foresight in saving this gem, the effort in it's restoration, and hopefully, many years of enjoyment in cruising.
              Very well deserved.....

Congratulations Tim. Glad La Conner finally put in best fiberglass. Will tell the in the water committee that they did a good thing. Hopefully get more fiberglass boats showing. Clint

                    What's in a name.........wake

Was a bit mystified by the name on the stern end of the 20 Bertram!? Meant to ask Mark about that?

Chuck, like your picture over the stern of the Saratogan...the wake! Gets my adrenaline going just seeing that!

Nice Tim! So, all we have to do to win is spend a few decades on a restoration project. Check!

I loved the name of the Bertram. Good play on words.

I don't mean to be argumentative but the length and beam of the Bertram 31 and Skagit 31 are exactly the same......

Tim, Gets my adrenalin going to. I want to jump that wake in my 17. I would probably loose my engine and the windshields would pop out. We should do that next year in the canal. That would get a lot of peoples adrenalin way up.
