I use a older program called Paint Shop Pro and in its menu, it has a resize button.
It asks what size and I tell it 800 and it will do a automatic 800 x 600.
Most camera's used to come with its own software for resizing photos down in size to send though the Internet.
I don't have any idea on how to use other programs..
I guess the first question would be, what steps do you take to put the photos on your computer ??Helmar Joe Johanesen

you can just use the Paint program on your computer. not much for advanced editing but it works well to resize.
Create a copy of the photo
right click on the photo copy- open with - paint
in the upper tab choose image-Resize/Skew
adjust size to 50-75% based on how large the file is.
