  • Ivar's on Saturday / Cancel

    CANCEL

I guess the verdict is it's cancel. I had to call Ivar's by 3:30 today to let them know how many. Being this was on the home page , i really don't think to many people even saw it under "news & events"section. Ingvar e-mail me Thursday am and ask me if i was going and i called him and ask where it was posted. I hardly ever look on the home page.I just go to the Forum. It was not listed there under the calendar for January. Sorry about this. Maybe another time. Thanks to Brian & John for contacting me. Chuck

I would like to but am waiting to see if grandma can watch Declan Saturday morning, otherwise I would likely have to come late as Declan has been sleeping until 11-11:30 every morning! And any parent knows you DO NOT wake a sleeping baby!!!

Sorry, Chuck, I'll be in Port Angeles getting my new outboard fitted to the 404! This time next year I should be rigged and ready to eat, looking dreamily out the window at my hard work at rest.

So what's the verdict? Is anyone interested in coming out for brunch?

The food is always delicious, and the Saturday pricing is much more reasonable!

I didn't expect this one to happen.
It just never made to the discussion list and then what, 3 days notice ?? So, not because lack of interest, just Lack of time to plan it.
(Thanks Chuck for stepping up and trying to set it up, it was just too late, sorry)

I think this was my fault for not bring up the Event list for everyone.
The main website is were the Calendar of events years list is located.
              http://www.classicboatclub.com/index.php/events
              Its the main website.

We have been discussing them here on the Forum...
              http://www.classicboatclub.com/forums/events/monthly
              This is in the Forum.

Now I know having them in two different places is not going to work. We have to decide, were do we want them.
The Main website or the Club Forum ?????

Ok, here is the difference between them.

The Main Website, the Calendar of events are just a List of all the events for the whole year.

The Club Forum list of events are month by month. I am not sure how to look at the whole years list. Just looked again, no way to show the whole year.

I think having the evens listed in both places is actually a good thing. The issue we had with this one was that it never showed up on the forum until three days prior which was too short for anyone to plan for it. I take some responsibility for this error as I was one of the folks at the annual meeting who wanted to see this event happen, but I never said anything on the forums...

I think we need to maintain event listings in both locations because some people go to the main page without logging into the forums every time, while others (myself included) go straight to the forums and rarely (if ever) check the main page content...

I tend to agree after thinking about it.
One area is for the discussion, the other is for the general pubic as well as everyone else to see.
I can list them in both places, just didn't get around to it.
I was kind of waiting for more description of the event as you all well know, I am not that good with putting words together like Marty was. Marty was the promoter..
