  • Does does anybody know if 32 Skagit will be at La Conner?

I would like bring my 14 Skagit and put it on the water as it will provide an excellent contrast to Tim boat if it will be there. This boat is exactly as issued but has a four cycle Mercury outboard on it. The licenses for it and the trailer are not current, but I have plenty of time to do that soon as I get the word on Tim's boat.

    Thanks, Dave
    Dave

I like how you totally just spoke about yourself in the third person...

Glad you're going to make it again!!

Update, Probably not going to make it Friday night. I'm heading back to the island Friday and will get there in the afternoon. Will have a couple hours to wash the boat down and head out early Saturday morning. Last time I left Saturday morning for this event (two years ago) I ran into fog in Rosario Strait. I think the show opens at 10:00, but last year there were people cruising the docks at 0900. Look forward to seeing you all there....

Good to see you in La Conner, Dave! Thanks for bringing your Skagit 14 and in the water, too! Appreciate the copy of the 1959 brochure.... Also the ride in your SL!

              Cheers,

              Tim

                Tim,

Thank you for the kind words. It's always fun to see your boat win another boat award in La Conner.

It turns out that the 14 Skagit was remarkably capable when running up and down the Swinomish Slough. It was also interesting to see the thing slap at 8 kn in a 3 inch chop! However, the boat will work perfect for the purpose I bought it and that is for boating when I don't want to tow a boat to a lake somewhere.

Supposedly, that little Skagit was the factories most popular product, even though it reportedly cost a months pay in the day. It was interesting like your boat, the 14 had a Portside helm. All the others that I own have a starboard helm which is what I'm used to.

Now to get the 16 Skagit finished and ready for the next trip to the San Juan's later this month.

Glad I was able to save some wear and tear by giving you a ride to the grocery store.
