Hey Tim, it was good to see you. Bruce B. and I were taking about the Roberts hull,
that was at the boat show. I remembered that I had met Jim Roberts, at strawberry cove,
and took his son, Jay, for a ride in my Skagit 17. I took a photo of Jim's boat, named Kapow, or Kaboom,
dont't remember, and the hull was simular to the one in the boat show. Jim later told me that
he had saved the mold for that hull, and was making some boats on the side.
Here is a photo of Jim's boat in May 2001. Steve

Steve, I haven't seen a picture of Kapow at least painted and with a new top on it. I have seen several Roberts of that basic design. 24 footers as I recall.
      Good to see you there.....

As to the in-water boat winners, Humming Bird was one and one of the big wood boats. The acoustics weren't good, so I didn't hear the one boat name.

Jim Roberts boat is running a 440 Chrysler inboard. It spent a couple years off Best Road getting the engine rebuilt in the early 2000s. Jim said they made 3 of these. One for him, one for his dad, and one for his uncle. Jim was on Cypress island when Roberts factory burnt and came back in his uncles boat. One of three was made into an outboard and returned to Jim Roberts through Marty Loken. That one did not have the step down hull. It was parked in LaConner for a while and has since disappeared. I think these three were 24 ft hulls, but may be wrong. Have a few pictures of the Roberts 27 when it was parked in Penn Cove. Will try to get these pictures to the present owner of the boat. Clint

So here are a few Roberts related photos- Bill's ( new owner)
I shot at Dagmar's on the hard in Sept. 2010.
The last two are a 24 Roberts, not sure if it's Jim Roberts. It would have been restored with a shallow cuddly added, if it was, in relation to the shot Steve has included in his post. This 24 was being stored in a lot in Anacortes, May 2011. Every time I'm in Anacortes, I check this lot, hasn't been there since.DSCN3760.JPGDSCN3759.JPGP1110254.JPGP1110255.JPG

That has to be number 3 as the one that came through Marty had a big outboard bracket mounted on the transom and didn't have the step down hull. Jim told me the one that came through Marty was his uncle's boat.

A few pictures of the LaConner show. Wish we could get more boats and people as it is a really great way to interact with club members and boaters.

I saw a boat similar to Kapow moored at Cap Sante marina in May. I'm pretty sure it had a red hull, but I didn't notice a name on it. It might still be there.
