Today, I took delivery of Arthur (Skagit 25) from Robert in Portland. My brother Stan, friend Dave and I picked the boat up and brought it to it's new home in Shelton. I'm looking forward to many years of boating with Arthur!

Thanks Chuck and Kelly.
I didn't get much Sleep last night thinking about the boat. I've spent a long time dreaming about rehabbing the green Skagit 25 footer that I purchased from Marty years ago and I finally came to the realization that it was a lot of work in fact too much work for me to complete. Arthur seems like it'll be the perfect fit for our family. And yes, we are going to keep the name Arthur. We plan on using it on a Hood canal and the south sound which we have boat launches approximately 20 minutes away from our cabin outside of Shelton. The only issue that I've come up with is that the shop building that I specifically built around the dimensions of this boat, has the doors just a bit too narrow and it makes backing the boat into the shop extremely nerve-racking. I guess it looks like I'm just going to have to build the addition onto the shop!
Attached is another photo from inside the shop that shows the 59 glass craft, the 1964 Johnson, and now Arthur 1960 Skagit. Primary colors!Attached Files17' Johnson Runabout (1964) Completed

Karl maybe Greg and i could set up a South Sound event for the Spring or late Summer ( or both ) since Greg and i have been down there in the past years 2-3 times. Maybe Kelly, Allen & Sue, Tim with the 31 , Bruceb and anyone else ? Huh ? Maybe we could set it up at the meeting in the event calender. Chuck1957 17' Skagit Express Cruiser

I'm in for an event on the South Sound!
Looking forward to learning about tides and salt water. I've done all of my boating on fresh water lakes.17' Johnson Runabout (1964) Completed

I'm in for a winter event too! Karl anytime you want to meet up at Swantown in Olympia let me know. I'm 5 minutes from there and always willing to drop in and go. The good thing about Swantown all the way out to Boston Harbor is you don't necessarily have to worry about tide tables, you just have to know where to follow the buoy/channel markers, which is pretty easy. Sometimes I've dropped in at Swantown and cruised around the point and went to the dock just to hang out.

Yes, I do have both on site at my cabin. I haven't had a chance to do an complete inspection yet, however, they are almost identical. Colors are different, engines were different, some of the controls are different, but everything else is the same.Attached Files17' Johnson Runabout (1964) Completed

No, I wish! I had to make room in the shop, so before I went down to Portland to get Arthur I had to move the green one out.17' Johnson Runabout (1964) Completed
