  • How about this boat?

Hey Folks, I've been looking for a sedan cruiser that would be a good match for a Bearcat 55.

    Here's something I spotted on craigslist: http://corvallis.craigslist.org/boa/4956834205.html

Any thoughts, opinions, pearls of wisdom, etc., would be greatly appreciated as usual.

Looks like a pretty sweet little cruiser. The 55 would be perfect sized for it. Just make sure the transom is solid, the Bearcats aren't light.

You know, this Almost looks like the Dorsett with the cabin top. I will see if I have a few pictures to share of what I am talking about.

If the transom is sound and opening up the hatch over on the deck, look at the stringers. If they look solid and the transom is looking pretty solid, the bearcat would push this around pretty darn good with that lap strake bottom design.

Looking at the scum line on the bottom, you can sure tell that the lowest part of that hull is just under the cabin which means she is going to ride Nice compared to the Skagits and Bell Boys.

Looks good from this angle, I would go for it.

I am down in Eugene if you need any help, I see your in Portland.

Thanks for the replies guys, the boat is still on craigslist, but I haven't heard back from the seller yet.

I'm pretty sure the boat was manufactured in White City, Oregon from old Dorsett molds.

Helmar, I really appreciate your offer of assistance, I may take you up on it.
