  • What to do with Bad Gas

Well I have a rather large problem, My bellboy has 2 18 gallon tanks since I bought the boat in the fall it has just been using the starboard tank, well not sure how but the port tank ended getting turned on and it seems to be filled with oil gas and water. Well I am, not sure what to do with what appears to be 30+ gallons of contaminated gas. Does any one have any suggestions ?

    Thanks
    Tom

Drain it and check for water and most of all smell it. If it is bad it won't smell like gas. Some of the guys will burn it in their cars a little at a time and not in a new car. If nothing else it makes good parts cleaner. At the price of gas hate just throw it out.

    PS
I have had gas from one season to the next and run it in my outboards with out any problem

Siphon the gas out and take it to a recycling center. Get rid of it, don't take any chances with it clogging your carb. Bad gas is nothing to trifle with, it will cost you lots of $$$ if you use it. I just dumped 40 gallons of last year's gas and it was like watching gold coins being dropped down a drain but if I had used the gas it would have cost me much more in repairs.

I used bad gas in my truck and have been paying for it for 2 years. It has been a expensive lesson I have learned all to well

Check with your county. Kitsap has a facility that will take old gas "free" even though our place is in Mason.

            Tom,
You can take the tanks and all,(if they are portable) to the pierce county landfill in Tacoma and they will dispose of the bad fuel for free as long your a pierce county resident.I usually leave my tanks one day and pick them up the next. They give you a claim slip and it is hassle free.

I strain it & add seafoam, which drives out water. Then I burn it in my lawnmower. Never hurt it yet.
