Just ran into a situation where I was offered a Certificate of ownership from a previous owner rather than a title.
this was a "pass through boat"...the current seller had not registered it in his name in the 6 months he has owned it...No bill of sale (from the previous owner) was available either.
browsed the WA state site and found a number of confusing explanations as to what each was...
can anyone shed some light on any problems, issues or extra work it would be to accept a Certificate of Ownership rather than a Certificate of Title?
and what good would a bill of sale from the current seller do me if the boat was never in his name?
Guess this is where I start learning some of the "fun stuff" about playing with old boats...
