dad has an 85 merc about a 1980 or so, does any one know of a mechanic that HAS A CLUE when it comes to working or tuning up one of these, He lives in Arlington so somewhere around in that area would be nice. Thanks a bunch.

Very knowledgeable old Merc mechanic in Anacortes. Name is Rick and he owns North Island Marine. Phone (306) 299-9061. He restores old Mercs and used to train mechanics to work on them.

outboard repair n tune
i highly recomend hilton outboard in tacoma, not only did they stock all of the parts for my 59 evinrude lark engine, they are always patient at answering all of my questions, even when i was asking about my volvo/penta which they dont work on unfortunatelyComment
