  • Video from our friends across the pond...

Testing out a new forum feature here. If it works as planned, everyone should see three embedded YouTube videos in this post. A big thanks to Chris and Helmar for making this happen! All registered forum users should now have the ability to insert videos into their posts. Don't forget your video cameras for next years events!

For instructions on how to do this see the "Forum User Tips" section of this website. Note there is also a tutorial on how to embed large pictures into your posts. Please let us know what you think!

THAT WAS AWESOME Love the video and it was really interesting to see all the shorter inboards. I think I want the aluminum inboard in part two. Too cool. B

If the Brits Can Do It...

...Maybe we can organize some kind of event that involves close-range maneuvers, for fun and for photo opportunities...? I was also surprised by the wakes thrown on that poor cream-colored runabout that stayed at the float during the entire event, taking a beating, but the public probably enjoyed seeing the boats in action...and at close range.

Great to see video made available on the message board! (Does anyone have any recommendations for an affordable little camcorder that would be okay for You Tube/message board postings?)

          Marty,
A while back I shopped for an affordable one. After comparing the different formats, brands, features, etc., I began to bleed from the eyes and ears and eventually stumbled into a store holding 300 bucks in cash in front of me muttering "video of new grandaughter, video of new grandaughter" over and over until I found myself outside with a new camcorder in my hand.

So no, I don't have any suggestions ...

            Marty,

All the rage with kids (several of Coles friends have them at 9 years old!!) are the Flip cameras. It is about the size of a cell phone and has a really simple one button record button. It is just like a digital camera in that you can review what you just watched on the small screen and delete it or save it. To download to a computer, it has a little flip out USB port. No cables to mess with. Plug it into the computer and it automatically downloads. Looks like they run about $160.

Too funny, No such thing as "mind your wakes mates" on the old Brighty.

Once around the white inner, "Mind the swans!" then "show us your legs girls" through the slalom, and back through the inner Harbour.

I hope the was a pub nearby with a good steak and kidney pie, it looked a bit brisk out on the water.
