I see nothing at all wrong with classing up a Dorsett accesory by installing it on a Skagit. I mean, gee whiz, that icebox has languished for decades in that Dorsett, don't you think it deserves the chance to finally move up the ladder?

Those Dorsett ice boxes are not designed to stand up to the constant bounce that they will get in a Skagit, unless you want cracked Ice You will have to cover it if you do the La Conner boat show - Just a warning

I am the new owner of a classic boat... I don't think I will have much spare $$ for hats, clothes, food, mortgage, add infinitum! First things first... Get all the bad stuff out... And save for the new. Chuck your boat is amazing!!! The bar may be a bit high but I am going to do my best take the time and do it right... I will start a new thread on the deconstruction tomorrow!

I know were the ice box went. I use it to store sand paper rolls in to keep the moisture away from them.VeryBigSmile
It was getting pitched out into the dumpster so I did the old dumpster dive for it.

Just kidding about the cap and sweatshirt. The second to last picture was taken in 2009 with my son and i in the Farallon alongside a 1957 Skagit i own in 1996. You know that you have had to many boats when you are running alongside a former boat you had from 14 years ago! I sold it to GregJ who lives 4 houses from me so i see it all the time. That was the 1st of 11 Skagits i had among other boats as well. At the present i have a 20 Skagit that is a keeper ( last pic ) and a 17 i just starting on. What is your name other than FarallonPDX ? Amazing pics Chuck. That is a great looking boat... My name is Josh by the way. Did some work today & found a bit (more than I wanted) of water damage in starboard side where water was pooling at the bulk head of the cabin and of course under the sink and the cabin floor... It will all nee to be replaced.... CutUp1

My camera is dead so I will charge it up and post some new pictures tomorrow morning...
