    I would agree with Shaun. Keep her as inboard-direct drive! Converting to I/O is difficult and a decent, serviceable, out-drive can easy surpass the cost of an engine and transmission... Not to mention, I/O's require special parts and tools to do your own service work. Direct drives can be built using mostly automotive parts that are cheap and easy to find!!

    Also, when you modify the transom to support an I/O it is easy to make small mistakes that result in the condition that Chuck's last boat had in that the bottom of transom rots away due to water penetrating thru the I/O opening...

          This old boat is on it's way back to Oregon today, back to it's storage site. It will just sit there and go to waste if no one grabs it. $600 is a small price for what I'm selling. The extras alone are worth more than that.
