Hey all, thought you might want a peek at my latest creation out in the boat YARD! Traded a NWCBC member some dragboat hardware for this 1958 Crosby Fish and Ski. On the back is a 1959 Mark78A short shaft Direct Reverser. Didn't want the boat and trailer, just the motor. As usual, had to take it all as a package! Got it home (another story for another time) and cleaned her up some. Not a bad boat. Seemed pretty solid with good seating and not all butchered up. Drained about 50 gallons of water out of the forward flotation 'tank' (sure towed nice with that extra hitch weight!) Crack in the windshield really sucks. Found a key in another controller that actually fit! WD-40'd everthing and with a fresh battery gave it a whirl. Weak spark. Pulled the cap and found a rotor that someone tried to pry off and broke. Dug thru my parts and found a decent one. put it on, cranked it over and BAMM!, she runs!! After messing with the solinoids some, actually was able to start it backwards (gotta love these crazy engines). Now I am happy to have a runner, but something was missing. Just another old boat is cool, but this one needed something to make it unique. I took a look around in the shed and came up with a plan. I'm alot happier with the boat now that I made a little modification. Cheryl is not quite as stoked as I am to get this one wet (not sure why).

Seeing double...
Top 10 list: Getting the wife on-board
1) Cheryl, every fishing boat needs a kicker.
2) They're dockbusters, the second is for reverse.
3) Oh Honey! Crosby's are nose heavy, the twins are for balance...
4) Too much tongue weight...problem solved.
5) Merc's are better on gas at half-throttle.
6) Docking is easier with twin motors...
7) You know what they say about the size of a guys outboard?
8) The 2010 Coast Guard rules require auxiliary power...
9) Don't they look sweet!
10) Like kidneys, one will work-but two work better!

Thanks guys. Just trying to do some boat hot rodding the way they did it in then (I think), cheap and homegrown! Greg, we had a good chuckle about your list! Most of them I had already used on her! Madprops, no problem, the right rear emblem is broken, left is good, so if you make 3 decals.......... See ya all Saturday, fired up the Seafair Sunliner yesterday in preperation. Looking forward to it!Attached FilesGordon and Cheryl Davies

Gordon ,
I picture you with a set of DUAL Jumpers cables and a can of starting fluid sporting TWO nozzles.
Now that`s danger on the water!
Of Course we`re all jealous of your Twins.
Might have to dub the sound of a V-12 onto a video though it may not need any help sounding good.
