  • Magnuson Park Boat Launch ,sand point

Does anybody know if there is overnight parking at this boat launch? If so how many hours can you park. Is it safe?
What about the city of Bellvue Ramp? Same questions.
    Any input would be apprieciated

    Rick,
I don't know if overnight parking is permitted at Magnuson, but I do know I wouldn't do it. Not there.

      Overnight Parking, Boat Ramps

      Rick -

I don't think any public boat ramps allow overnight parking, period.

If you're planning ahead for Opening Day, we'll once again be arranging secure overnight parking not far from the launch ramp at 14th Avenue Northwest in Ballard (Seattle), behind the cyclone fence of a friend's business. Stay tuned for details...

Tim, I have overnighted at Magnuson several times tied up to the dock to get a jump on sockeye fishing. I know it's not normally allowed but I just pay for two days and I've never been told to leave, but that's taking a chance. The plan was if asked to leave to just find anchorage some place or go accrose the lake to Kirkland Marina and find moorage there. The Magnuson launch has been expanded with longer docks and a new flooting dock. It can get extremely busy during boating season but I have had no problems getting in or out for opening day.

I agree with Greg. You could spend the night and no one would probably say anything. I thought about it this year so that I could go "transom hopping" on the log boom Friday evening. Just need to find a designated Captain

I launched at Magnuson the first year we did the parade. It is great for after the parade. Once through the Cut, turn left and go. But you do need to be through into Portage Bay by 8:30-9:00am if I remember right. Can make for a long day hanging out at Hooters waiting for the parade. Best option is to launch at the 14th street in Ballard and then shuttle the trailer over to Magnuson, but takes alot of running.

Anyone up for a Friday night cruise along the log boom?

I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that Rick was asking about leaving his tow vehicle and trailer overnight in the parking lot while he was elsewhere with the boat.

You CAN park your car & trailer overnight at Magnuson for up to 3 or 4 nights @ about $5 per night.
Security would be iffy. "Do ya feel lucky,.... well do ya?"

did I fire 5 shots or 6 , In all the excitement I kind of forgot myself? Beings this is a 44 Magnum the most powerfull handgun in the world and it could blow your head clean off you have to ask yourself "Do I feel lucky", Well punk do you feel lucky! "Hey man I gots to know"? Click

We are staying in Kirkland and I'm looking for a place to launch on Friday and will come back Sunday afternoon. The launch in Kirkland looks a little sketchy so I was looking at the launch at Sandpoint and it looks real nice and its just across the lake. We want to get in the water Friday to avoid the rush. So I would like to leave my car and trailer. I would like to come back and have tires left on both?
